TASTING NOTES

Fragrances of raspberry and Morello cherry are complemented by fenugreek spice. Bramble and undergrowth notes are balanced with mixed red
and black cherries on the palate. Overall, this is an
elegant example of Tasmanian Pinot Noir, with
fine, supple tannins rounding out the finish.

SERVING TEMPERATURE | 14-18°C

SEASON

By March, ‘unprecedented’ was already the catchword for 2020, a term that could equally describe the season and vintage. The COVID situation escalated over the closing weeks of the season, posing unique challenges for harvest and vintage operations, which we managed with a few elegant pivots.

Unlike many other regions in eastern Australia, the season was quite cool and we had some rain, so that fruit retained great natural acid and the harvest was naturally low yields of clean fruit with excellent flavour.

WINEMAKING

ORIGIN
Made with Pinot Noir sourced from our Native Point and Auburn Rd vineyards, Tamar Valley, Tasmania.

VINIFICATION
Some parcels were 100% de-stemmed, some up to 25% whole bunch fermentation. Gentle cap management, including hand plunges and brief pump-overs. The wine
was aged for 10 months in French oak barriques and puncheons, one third of which were new.
